Focus, Inspiration and Philosophy

Whether it is through botanical drawing and painting, portraits, urban architecture, still life or mythical illustration, artist Susie Parry beautifully captures and expresses specific moments in time. She has specialist knowledge in the area of fine arts, illustration, drawing and painting. Susie has taught art for many years at both secondary and tertiary levels. She has held several exhibitions, illustrated various children’s books and has completed many private commissions including a mural for a children’s hospital ward.

Susie is also an art therapist, holding both a BA in Psychology/Sociology and a Master of Art Therapy Degree. She completed her thesis on art therapy in a palliative care setting. Thus, Susie’s experience as an art therapist has been in palliative care settings including children and adults in hospital care, community based palliative care services and in the home. At the Royal Children's Hospital, Susie worked as an art therapist with both children undergoing treatment for cancer and their families.
